display replacement/keyboard issues

hi all-

can someone tell me if a display on an late 2006 mbp a1150 can be used to replace the display on an early 2008 mpb a1211? Also, my tab, caps lock, shift, function and control keys on the left side of my keyboard are not working (on the a1211). I've checked the connections and whatnot...

any ideas on these issues would be helpful as I've been trying to frankenstein these machines together all day!

These laptops are not compatible.
