cannot get to login screen

hello i have got a macmini 80 gb 10.6.8 with snow leopard and when i turn it on all i see is the wallpaper of the universe,any ideas please on how to get to the login screen?
i am using a windows keyboard.

thank you ,i have managed to get it to recognize the installation disk and i am in the process of re-installing the system.
