Won't wake up

I'm trying to use an Asus USB-N13 wi-fi adapter. When the computer goes into sleep mode it won't wake up. I have to hold down the power button to reboot. When I remove the adapter I'm back to normal.

I have an 09 macpro updated to a 2010 running El Capitan. 3.33 hex core with 48 gigs of ram. I also run Windows 10 with Parallels.

Suggestions?

Hello,

From memory, many brands of USB Wi-Fi adapters would prevent the 2009 Mac Pros from waking from sleep. It is probably best to find a used OEM Apple AirPort Extreme Card - 661-4907. They can sometimes be found for around $100 USD.
