White screen, but working when connected to TV (macbook pro 2011)

Hi!

Yeah so, first the screen was black. So i opened the back and disconnected the display cable in there, and reconnected it, then the screen lit up but was all white.

I can change the brightness from black to full brightness. But the screen is just all white, nothing happens even if i gently wiggle the connector.

Can a diagnose the problem source some how? With a multimeter or something?

What do you guys think the problem is.
Reinstall OS for drivers? Change cable? Should I check something else befor buying? Multimeter?

Hi there,

The 2011 MacBook Pro is known for an issue with the dedicated GPU.

When I had one, I used a technique using linux to rewrite the firmware in order to disable the GPU allowing the MacBook Pro to work.

If you google 2011 MacBook Pro GPU, you will find several sites with suggestions on how to disable the GPU allowing you to continue using the MacBook Pro.

Just be careful. If you do something wrong, you may make it worse.
