Hey guys - I just got a used Mac Pro as well as a 27" Apple Thunderbolt Cinema Display. My goal is, of course, to connect the Mac Pro with the monitor display, but I don't seem to have the right cable.. The Cinema Display came with the power cord (plugs into wall) and one that splits into a thunderbolt and magsafe power cord. I need it to connect to a Mac Pro - how do I do that/which cord do I need to have? (DVI, I'm guessing? Or DVI, firewire, and USB..?).

These are what I have:
Mac Pro:

Cinema Display:
Apple 27-inch 2560 x 1440 QHD Monitor (MC914LLA)

Hello and welcome.

From the description, that is a Mac Pro (Early 2008) and an Apple Thunderbolt Display (27-inch).

Because the display requires a Thunderbolt-equipped Mac, I don't believe there is a way to connect it to that Mac Pro, as the ATI 2600XT card only has a dual-link DVI port. Unfortunately, there aren't any adapters that I know of that will convert between those connections.
