using time machine I accidentally selected erase for my external drive

Hi I have pulled the power plug as fast as i can on my external hard drive when i accidentally
selected erase from time machine to do a first ever backup .
It only ran for 10 seconds or even less.

My external hard drive had photos and videos saved from my camera using my other windows computer. Can I get the data back?!

When I connect the external drive to my mac lap top again is does appear on the desk top , it doesnt mount .

I doubt it, you would have had better luck if you hadn't pulled the plug.

You'll need recovery software, there are number of threads on here that have good recommendations.
