Hello,

Was wondering if anyone has noticed any (realistic) differences between the conventional UPS units
with the simulated sine wave output, and some of the newer ones that have a "pure" sine wave output ?

They seems to be significantly more expensive. Important ?

Thanks,
Bob

Hello,

Honestly, either is fine. The pure sine wave units are designed more for high end audio or medical equipment, as they can be far more sensitive to incoming power cleanliness. In addition, simulated vs pure sine wave really only applies to the DC to AC conversion when you lose power, and the unit is operating on battery.

In short, save some money for home computers...spend some money for mission critical servers. ;)

Hi,

Thanks.

Does the CyberPower ups units Software work well with an imac running Mojave ?

Several posts, not here, saying it
doesn’t. That their software is
a “disaster” with macs.

Any experience with ?

Regards,
Bob

No worries.

I don't have any experience with CyberPower, or their software. Honestly, I only learned of that company when I responded to your other recent post about it. ;)

You could always contact their support folks to get an "official" answer.
