Sorry. I am new here. I wasnt sure about the placement of my post but I really do need some help.
The green download-like symbol on the left was suddenly there. Does anyone know how to remove it? Please help me. Ive been watching Black Mirror and this is really starting to freak me out.

Hello and welcome.

Normally, that is to signify that either OpenOffice or LibreOffice has an update awaiting download. Other software could use the same icon as well.

-Do you have either of them installed?
-Have you tried hovering your mouse pointer over it, or clicking on it to see if a dialog box appears?

Thanks so much for your quick response!
I downloaded OpenOffice today. So I guess it is that.
When I clicked it, nothing happened. I tried to put it in the trashcan but that didnt happen either.
But if it is nothing to worry about then I am relieved.
