unwanted cookies

I know that certain websites need to leave cookies - like droppings - to function properly. However, I don't want those cookies to follow all my clicks even on other websites, so I always wipe Safari's website & cookie data after a session (->Prefs/Privacy). Lately eBay's cookies stubbornly stick there and can not be wiped with the Safari option. Anybody knows what's going on? A new type of permanent cookie? Need help to get rid of them.

Hello Cory, thanks for the reply! I am already doing all these suggested things but until now I could always wipe the cookies off after the session with the Safari option mentioned. Now, under the latest Sierra and Safari 10.1 this doesn't work with the eBay droppings. Others can still be cleaned away. Why is this?
