Unable to start a new private conversation

I was trying to send a private message to another member, and when I attempt to click the "Start a new conversation" button.

It says "You may not start a conversation with the following recipients:"

Any ideas?

Hi Jess,

It could be that they have changed their privacy settings for Start conversations with you to People You Follow Only, instead of Members Only. If so, you could try asking them in a forum post to start a conversation with you to see if that works.
