Trying to import a bank statement

I have a macbook pro about 2012 vintage. when trying to import a bank statement I get it into a document file but when I click on it to read it I get an alert saying NO DOCUMENT wht should i be doing

What Mac OS are you using? And what "finance" software?

Yosemite

the programme is Acemoney

At present the info is in a finder document folder

Never heard of Acemoney. I am still using Quicken 2007, but I do not do anything "fancy" with it. Just use it to record transactions for our checking account.

Also not sure if it makes any difference, but which version of Yosemite? The last one Apple released was V10.10.5. Just in case you need it, you can download the OS 10.10.5 Combo Updater from here:
