I have a 2007 MacBook pro that needs a new graphics card and I cannot boot it up at all. It'll cost $300 to fix. I was thinking of getting a new iPad and was wondering if there's a way to transfer files from my old computer to an iPad even of the computer kernel panics and won't boot up even to the desktop. Any way to access the files such as photos from iPhoto and music, etc. without having to start up the computer? If I can't get them onto an iPad, what about another laptop? How would this be possible? Thanks.

There is no File System on the iPad, I think you need to revise how you think an iPad works!

To move your file to another Mac, you can pop the drive out and put it in an external enclosure and access all your files (if the Panics have scrabbled stuff).
