Timed out

I have an early 2015 Macbook Air 13” running High Sierra. Almost every time I attempt a site search it finishes up with a “Timed Out”, try again.

Firefox is my normal browser but it has happened with others. My IP is Zen.

I would be very grateful for any suggestions that could help with this

-Do you have any third-party utilities like MacKeeper or antivirus installed?
-Is Firefox up to date?
-Do you have any Firefox Extensions or Plugins installed?
-Can reach websites normally?

-Can reach websites normally? No, only occasionally

The 'time outs' happen on most attempts to reach web sites, perhaps mostly from Firefox (I will test this asap). I have AVG internet security and VPN. Firefox is uptodate and have extensions, but seldom use them.
