Thumbnails not loading on several browsers

majave 10.14 imac late 2016, external ssd........thumbnails not loading in vavaldi, chrome, opera, no problems in safari, the youtube site sometimes loads thumbnails and then goes blank, videos work fine in all three situations ........safari, chrome are filled with ads on every video.....vivaldi has none, using the music and wood working channels quite a bit so there is problem where ? have gone thru browser preferences several time and many combinations, onxyed the boot- removed caches- updated but nothing seems to work

• Do you happen to have any antivirus or Internet monitoring/filtering installed and running?
• I assume you checked/disabled/removed Safari/Chrome Extensions when in Preferences, correct?

yes, have tried a variety of safari extension. no extensions on vavaldi, also turned off hardware acceleration in now the thumbnails come and go with no particular pattern...........
