The launch pad does not show the HP officejet Pro 8600

After upgrading to Mac Sierra 10.13.3 the launch pad does not show the HP officejet Pro 8600 icon. The application for the printer and scanner is not listed in the applications folder, even after reinstalling the software.

-How did you reinstall the printer software - from a download from HP?
-How was/is the HP printer connected - USB or Wi-Fi?
