safari quit, did reinstall and update....it works but cannot csrutil disable sip " no such command" did combo update 10.12.6, which is what i had before reinstall, and "up date does not recognise this ( external ) volume" comes up what to do, need to disable sip to redo the dock icons....... sierra on a late 2015 2.5 imac........am i screwed???

Are you doing the 'csrutil disable' in recovery mode?

yes ......it seems terminal refused the command for some time but about 6 hrs later it worked, but now the wall paper blinks of and on while in disable mode .....apps load but not the dock , when returned to enable the blinking stops and everything is normal....... thanks
