Terminal app does not work properly in Catalina.

Terminal app does not work properly in Catalina. For example: ls will not list some folders in my library. Ditto for sudo not giving me access to these folders. I have administrator privileges and am used to accessing these folders.

Catalina is a dog. Are there any good references out there on it?

I do not think this is a Terminal problem, more to do with where Catalina installs stuff. Catalina sets up Macintosh HD (which is read only) and Macintosh HD-DATA. When I checked this out on my Catalina install I also found some folders seemed to be missing, however I checked in /System/Volumes/Data/Library and the 'missing' folders were there.

Shouldn't sudo give me access to these locked folders? I am set up as an administrator.
