Yes, iCloud can keep your contacts, calendars, notes, etc. in sync across your devices.

-What models/versions of the iPad/iPhone/MacBook do you have?
-What versions of iOS/Mac OS X are they running?
-Do you have an iCloud account?

In System Preferences on your MacBook, click the iCloud icon (in the Internet & Wireless section) then sign in using your AppleID which you should already have but if you can't recall what your AppleID is go here:
