My husband an I both have MacBook Air - mine is fine (2015, Catalina)) but his takes ages to move the cursor, it's slow or jumps, drives you mad really can't use it. I really don't understand why he has this problem - can anything be done? It does seem strange that he has this prob and I don't!

Hello,
  • Have you tried leaning the trackpad surface?
  • Does it happen for everyone that uses the trackpad, i.e. not just him?
  • Is it hard to press, i.e. spongy or not much "travel"?

Sorry, what do you mean leaning the trackpad? Yes it happens when I tried to use it. No feels, normal, just won't do what you want, very slowly moves, then does it's own thing! My air is the same age, and I couldn't live without it! but my husband's drives me up the wall trying to do things, it takes ages to get the cursor where you want it.

Sorry...I meant cleaning the trackpad surface. ;)

I wonder if it could be simple wear. Does he have a Bluetooth mouse or trackpad to try?

Don't know what a bluetooth mouse is - we have a mouse that has a little plug you put into the laptop, wire free.
