ssd in 2008 macbkpro

nstalled series 520 intel 120gb ssd in older 17" mac book pro....2008....backing up to a 500 gb 400 fire wire hd is spiking cpu to 200+ with extremly low speed (35 mb of 49 gb in 10 mins) have run disk warrior on back up disk with little improvement......what may be the problem/solution ....thank you

Hello and welcome.

-Which exact model 2008 MacBook Pro - silver or black keyboard? I assume 17" Late 2008 with silver keyboard from the details in your other post?
-Which version of Mac OS X?
-Did you partition/format the SSD as GUID and Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)?

It sounds like a temperature sensor has been disconnected/damaged, the SATA hard drive data cable is not properly seated/damaged, or the SSD is not partitioned/formatted correctly.
