Slow Picture download

Downloading photos and videos is very slow. I have updated the newest software, but it did not correct the problem. This started about a year ago and has progressively gotten worse.

Need to know, at a minimum, the following:

1. What OS X version are you using?

2. The exact Mac model you have.

3. The browser you are using.

4. Do you do any disk cleanup/maintenance tasks?

5. Do you preform backups, and if so (hopefully!), how do you do those)?
