Exported slideshows which were created in Aperture 3 now have two to five blanks appearing when playing back as .mov or.m4v movies. If recreated darken slides may appear in the same placed as they appeared before or new ones appear where they had not before. It is a bit frustrating say in the lease!

I haven't come across that issue before. Sounds like maybe some of the photos used in the creation of the slideshow have been moved/deleted from their original locations in the Aperture Library.
-Is Aperture up to date at version 3.6?
-How many photo are in the Aperture Library?
-Have you had the issue previously?
-Have you tried making a shorter slideshow with less photos to see if the issue happens with it?
