Sizing issues when opening Word doc with Pages

I have a Word document that I would like to open and edit.

So, I opened with Pages, however the content on the page is just up in the top left corner and is only covering 1/8 of the page, not the full A4 page.

When I open in Preview it is a perfect A4 page. The formatting is fine, its just shrunk!

Any idea how I can get this back to standard A4 size?

Try TextEdit

Thanks, but It says the document is locked....

Get Info and see if the Lock checkbox is ticked.

I could be why Pages is having problems too.

No, the locked box isn't ticked either. Strange!

Does it open in TextEdit or do you get that message when opening?

Starting to sound like that file has a problem.

It just comes up as a blank window headed with 'Filename blah blah - Locked'

Like a proper Text Edit window but no content

If you hover your mouse over Locked a popup menu triangle will appear, click on that and choose Unlock from the menu.

I does sound like the file has been corrupted in some way, this may not be a "Mac" problem.

I hovered over Locked and clicked unlock but there is no content, just a blank TextEdit window.

Really don't want to go and buy Office Mac for the sake of this one document - sounds like even that may not fix the issue anyways....
