Scrubed a hard dr to sell or donate, but...

There is now no "brains", nothing! How do I get it to bootable?

When you say scrubbed do you mean formatted? or did you just reset the OS to the original default setup?

I cleaned the hard drive, CMD-R on restart. Disk Utility/continue/erase.

If you have erased the disk it will need an OS on it before it can boot.

You can't, but you had booted to the recovery sector.
