I recently created and now boot my 2012 21.5 iMac from an external SSD. Everything works fine. I would like to see if it is possible to now roll back the o/s that is on the internal hd from Catalina to Mojave. The reason for this is that I have quite a few 32 bit programs that I would like to run. If anyone can point me towards a source that outlines if and how that's done, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks---John

Hello and welcome.
You may be able to create a bootable Mojave installer on a USB flash drive, startup from it, then erase the internal HD and install Mojave. There isn't anyway to downgrade in place and keep any data on the drive.
