SOLVED Retrieving CV from seagate external hard drive

Hi All--Im new to forums and have lost my CV. It isnt located through the search
/ documents/ finder means, so I thought to try my external hard drive which is a seagate.
But it doesnt come up there either. More to the point it doesnt seem easy to retrieve and certainly not intuitive to use.
Can anyone assist please ??

-Which application created the document, and does it still open from within that application - possibly from a recent files list?
-Are you sure of the name of the document?
-Which was it last saved on your Mac?

forgetting the name of a document is now a problem for me, turned 70 a few months ago.

But if you do a search, command F, for a line of text that may be in the CV sometimes it is found, and the document show up in the search results list..

a company name you worked for or a School/uni you went to etc...

recommend giving it a try.
