Reset my iMac

How do I reset the iMac with a fresh os X?

-Which version of OS X/macOS is currently on it?
-Did the iMac come with any install discs?

Hi , Glad to hear from you. My mac is an iMac 8.1 2008. It OS X EL CAPITAN version 10.11.6
It has no install discs. I have reset it before, but don't remember how.

Hi, I contacted apple and was told that the server probably did't reset the computer because the os is so old. Since there are no Apple stores open, I will let it set for now. Thank you all.
