Replying to and forwarding email

My wife has an iPad 2 or possibly 3. I don't know how to find out which. Recently she has found that she can send and receive emails but not reply to or foreword emails. I have noticed on other help sites similar complaints. Can anyone suggest a fix?

receiving and sending are 2 to different services, this is not uncommon. You need to revisit the setting as often the ISP change things. We have found that the best thing is to Delete the old Account and set it up fresh and new.

Thanks Kaveman. Problem was that she could send and receive emails but when she went to reply or forward she got an error message saying server not responding. If she sent the reply a an email on its own to went. Have reset and it appears to be working OK but still baffled as to why it happened.
