Hello,

i wrote an Automator script, which backup my data from my MacBook Pro to my NAS.
In Addition the Backup starts with an calendar entry (2 times in a week).
An example: The Backup should start on Monday at 6 o clock pm, but the MBP is off.
When i start the MBP the Backup don´t start.
If the Backup starts, then the share will connect in an Folder on my MBP.

How can i do it, that the Backup will repeat it, when it don´t start?

Best regards

Automator has no way of knowing if it has run or not, so how would it know?
Put in in the login items and it will run every time, but.. is this something you want to be running while the Mac is trying to get started?

Hello,

thanks for your reply.
The Script should start two times in a week. (When the mac is running)
It should´t start, at the login.
I realized with a calendar entry, but with a calendar entry i can´t start the script again when its failed.

Your problem is a domain issue.

How can the script know that it hasn't been run, if its not running?
The script hasn't failed, what runs the script has failed, how does that know it hasn't run the script?

This is not an easy computer problem to solve, and Automator and a Calendar won't do it.
