Question mark on Skype icon in dock

There is a red question mark on top of the Skype icon in my dock; I can't open the application. Does this mean someone has blocked me from Skyping them/ How do I know who has done the blocking?

Hi, try launching Skype from your Applications folder & see if it opens normally.

I had tried that, but it didn't work until I drew the Skype icon out of the dock and put it in the trash. Many thanks for your help. Aloha

Glad you got it resolved. It seems that just like an alias, sometimes the link between the icon (whether in the dock or via an alias) can get "broken".
