Problem with Excel Workbook Saved to Dock

I have an Excel workbook that has been saved to my dock for months. I use it daily and always save after updated. I recently was trying to move the document to a hard drive and selected "Show in Finder". Now I can't open it from the dock and the version in Finder is an older version.

How can I get my most recent version back? Thanks!

Hello and welcome,

-Which version of OS X?
-Which version of Excel?
-Have you tried a Spotlight search to find all copies of that file?
-Did you have any copies of it stored on an external hard drive/flash drive by chance?
