Hello everyone

A few months ago I had to make a backup on my time capsule before resetting my macbook air (battery change and all), but since I got it back, i had no way to open/access my save. I can click on it in tc but it doesn't show up in the program. It's 107GB, and clicking on it manually does nothing. I have tried mounting it with disk utility and it works, but I can't seem to restore it.

If anyone has any ideas or ways to get it back, please do share as I'm getting kinda desperate.
Also if I haven't given enough infos on the computer or something, don't hesitate to ask
Thanks in advance for the replies

Hello and welcome.

Sorry for the delayed response.
  • Which model MacBook Air?
  • Which version of macOS?
  • Are you running the same version of macOS as you backed up?
  • What type of drive is the Time Machine backup on?

Hello and thank you for the reply,

It's a 13inch MacBook Air from early 2015 running on BigSur, if i remember correctly i was using Catalina while doing the backup, is that a problem?
It's on an Airport Time Capsule, the one from 2008.
