Preview app help

I have a list of like a million items in my Preview menu when you click tap on it with 2 fingers it shows a ton of things....I hit "clear recent" items under the menus at the top of the screen when Preview is running but that didn't get rid of them...I know someone showed me how to do this once but I forgot...help?

Preview > File > Open Recent > Clear Menu then Quitting Preview and opening it again will also clear the Dock Menu.
