Pages spell check

I have a 2015 iMac 27" running Big Sur 11.6.3. Pages application shuts down every time I run spell check. I have reported this to Apple many times, but no fix has come through. What can I do to get spell checker to work properly?

• Do you get any form of error when Pages shuts down?
• Does Pages work normally otherwise?

I only get the continuous beach ball
Pages works normally

Have you tried the Dictionary application itself? Does it hang as well?
