I have been looking around on ebay for another eMac with a faster processor. I have came across several that says they have been overclocked?

What does that mean exactly? How is it achieved?

I wouldn't think of doing anything to harm my mac, but I'm just curious. I like to know what things does, how they do them, etc.

I don't mean to ask so many ?'s, but I like to know as much as possible about everything. Thanks for all the help!!!!

Overclocked means they have done some form of work on the logic board/CPU to enable it to run at a faster speed than stock. Some have success doing this, but it is actually not a good idea. It can result in damaging the processor or other components of your Mac, void any warranty it still has, and generally cause more trouble than it's worth.

If you are looking to buy another eMac, personally I would stay away from overclocked machines.
