Well, the day has come, and OS 10.00, El Capitan, is available for downloading from the Apple Store. I have just completed downloading it on both of my machines, but I am waiting for updates to Onyx and Tech Tool pro before I install it. That should happen in the next couple of days.
Also, Apple has a separate download of the newest version of Safari, V 9.0, which is included with OS 10.11, but can be used with Yosemite, OS 10.10. Thus, if you plan on staying with OS 10.10, one can get Safari V9.0 from here:
