Older G5 running OSX just dying.

Hi,

I have an older G5 Imac running OSX that keeps crashing. I just need to get some files off of it. Is there anything I can do to keep it running long enough to grab those?

It will start but as soon as I start to do anything it freezes up. sometimes it just locks, other times I'll get an warning panel telling me I need to restart.

Any tips?

If you have another Mac, connect them via FireWire, start the old one in Target Mode, boot holding down T. Then it will show up on the other Mac as a Standard Harddrive, drag and drop the files you need to get.
