Old iPhone 5s

I recently retired my old iPhone 5s owing to battery issues (very short life) and purchased an iPhone SE. I have heard that I can donate the 5s, but don't know where or how this process works. Any guidance to assist in this process would be appreciated.

Most of the companies that purchase old iPhones only go back to the iPhone 6s. Some local communities do accept old cell phones for seniors and 911 purposes. There are also online groups that accept them, like Cell Phones for Soldiers. Also, here are a few ideas: 5 Ways to Donate Your Old Smartphone or Cell Phone to Charity.
