Object stuck in Headphone socket

[Stuck on sound]

There is a small object, like a tiny ball that has somehow gotten stuck inside the headphone socket of my mac. The red light that prevents any kind of sound is also on. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this object out? I've tried shaking the laptop, hoping it falls out, but it seems to be stuck. Please help.
