HI, my faithfull iMac G5 Ambient Light (circa 2005) finally expired a few weeks https://www.mac-help.com/images/smilies/mad.gifago owing to the hard drive failing (it had been clicking and slowing up for a while and the beachball had been spinning around for no good reason) My local computer expert fitted a new hard drive and reinstalled Tiger 10.4. but now I have no iPhoto, iDVD, Garage band etc, just iTunes,iChat, and Quick Time player. I tried downloading iphoto off the internet but when I try and install the .dmg file I get the message "No platform for this installation"https://www.mac-help.com/images/smilies/mad.gif What is the best thing to try - buy a used version of iLife?; bearing in mind I will probably buy a new G5 when they eventually update it next year (???). I only need iPhoto for now so I can upload my pics off camera. Thanks for reading this; any help very welcome.

Hello again Kaveman, Yes I meant Intel desktop iMac. I will try reinstalling disc 2 when I get time, maybe computer "expert" did not install it - he normally repairs PCs only, but offered to sort out problem for me as I was desperate! No nearby Apple repairers.
Thanks for advice, will do.
