New to Mac World and need some help

This is probably the dumbest question and my all knowing best friend google has failed to provide me with a solution. When I am using Mail and I am typing an email, but then I switch back to the mailbox to look at something, that draft goes behind the page and I have to minimize mail to get it back, I have tried "command Tab" to switch through the windows, but it never comes back. Is there anyway to get this back on the top without reducing the mail window down each time? I welcome sarcastic solutions as well.

hi command tab only cycles the app. not their open windows as far as I find in Monterey. but command tab within any app cycles it open windows/pages/ so Command tab to the mail, and then command tab to the window/document you want.

as with many problem with the Mac, have you sacrificed a first born yet.
