New to Mac Help

Hi, I go by Otter, recently acquired road name I go by once I started riding coast to coast on motorcycle, rode in all kinds of weather and I started to enjoy riding in the rain. I know, it sounds crazy but it is fun. Doing another trip this year from PA to California and back.
Anyhow, why I am here, I recently switched from Windows to Mac, well just a little over 3 years ago. I'll never go back to Windows after running a Mac. So much easier, no constant bug fixes and updates to deal with all the time. My cat messed up my laptop so I made a thread called Finder to see if someone can help me.
