Hi I'm new on here, hope you can give me a little advise and help.
I have a mac desktop 2007. I wanted to upgrade the ram from the 1GB to 2 X 2 GB in 2 slots.
I replaced the 1GB with the new 2GB.
No problem.
But the second empty slot that had never been used will not take the new memory.
It just won't push in.
Any ideas what it might be please.
Whoops just noticed I've put this in the wrong place.
Said I was New .Sorry.
About me.
I'm an older lady that loves her iMac .
Just got an ipad mini and having great fun with it
I have a few problems but seem to muddle through.

It seems to be the right Ram . It's the same as the one I have used.
I had 1GB in 1 slot.
I have exchanged the 1 GB with a 2 GB no problem.
But when I tried to put the other 2GB into the unused slot to make 2 X 2 GB = 4GB
It wouldn't push in.
I pulled out the tab as far as I could.
And I have it the right way up and right way round.
The 2 GB is working fine and is noticeably faster.
Any ideas , do I have to do something to the unused slot before I can use it ?
Or maybe the slot is faulty.

RAM slots are meant to be very tight.
but if you think it might be faulty then there is nothing to be done, take it to an AppleCare Service Centre near you.

Yippy I've done it. Just had another go and lost it with it, gave it a right good push and in it went. I am now 4GB.
I think i may have been a bit scared of breaking it before.
Thank you for your help.
