Hi,

I've produced an automation to open a new email message in Mail with pre-defined content.

Unfortunately, even though I have text formatting (bold, italics, etc) in Automation, once it opens the message in Mail all the formatting has been removed.

Does anyone know how I can include text formatting within an automated New Mail Message?

Thanks for any assistance,
Danny

Hello and welcome.

-What version of Mac OS X?
-In Apple Mail, check Preferences > Composing > Message Format: and see if it is set to Rich Text or Plain Text format.

Hi Cory,

Thanks for the reply.

OS X 10.10.5 (14F27)
Mail Version 8.2 (2104)

Apple Mail Preferences currently set to Rich Text. I've just tried swapping to Plain Text which didn't make any difference.

Cheers,
Danny

OK, thanks for the additional information.

-The content is actually in the Automator script itself and then inserted in the new email when the script runs?
-Can you provide a sample of the Automator script with generic formatted text?

Hi Cory,

Thanks again for the help.

Yes, with the New Mail Message module I input the email text in Automator.

I've attached screen grabs of the app in Automator, and the output email.

How do I share a sample of the automator script?

Cheers,
Danny
