need help

took my mac to geek squad was told they needed to erase hard drive, had them do that , turned on computer thinking all i had to do was insert disk and reinstall them, when u turned on computer a flashing folder with a question mark appears. installed disk and held down the letter c nothing happened and the flashing folder comes back. what am i doing wrong computer uses os 10.6.2

Try this turn on the Mac and pop the First SL instal disk in now reboot the mac this is important holding the C key if this does not work repeat but hold the option key.
Flashing question mark means the Mac can't find operating system.
