Brand new iMac 21.5.
Bought an iMac for idiots, strangely enough it doesn't address the issue.
After creating a "new folder" I can't for the life of me figure out how to "name folder"
(This has nothing to do with photos or music)
I've tried all the obvious click, double click, right click etc.
I can't find anything in the Mac help drop downs, so I guess I'm looking in the wrong area.
If someone could tell me where to find an answer, that would be make my morning.
Cheers

Hi,

Pleased you found how to do this, is this your first Mac? if so congratulations and I am sure the learning cure will be enjoyable. Macs are very different from a PC more basic if you like just think about what you are trying to do in its simplest form and nine times out of ten this is how a Mac works.
Takes a while to loos your windows head.

Many thanks for both your response and encouragement.
This is my first Mac after 30+ years of DOS then Windows
I've still got a LONG way to go with the learning curve, but I will get there.
I do have a request if I may.
I'm looking for a recommendation for a PDF writer.
I work mainly with a music composition program (Finale) and the final step is to convert all the instrument parts to PDF files prior to sending to various clients.
I looked through the available apps but couldn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from what I was reading.
If you have a suggestion, it would be appreciated.
Cheers
Taz.

Hi,

Not sure if this will work, but open the document you want to convert choose print, look to the bottom left of the new print box and see if there is an drop down menu option to save as a PDF.

One of the little known way of renaming a File or Folder in Finder.
Select the Folder, (Click on it Once)
Press Return, (Now In Edit Mode and Name Highlighted)
Type the New Name
