My Mac (Safari) used a search engine automatically which I didn't want.

I am using a MacBook Air 2013, macOS Catalina 10.15.6

The Safari default search engine is Google (in the setting page), but it jump to yahoo.com.hk for searching , I can't reset it.

Does anyone can help?

Yes, of course, Google is allowed in Hong Kong, just as good as Yahoo does. It might be banned in the future as local liberated powers seem to be losing their battle against the mainland dictatorship of China. So far, there are https://hk.yahoo.com/, https://www.google.com.hk/.
As regards jumping to 'yahoo.com.hk for searching' , Safari (just like any browser) might get hacked by a strain of Yahoo redirect virus.
Are you in Hong Kong? Is google allowed in Hong Kong?
