Mouse Issues

I have a problem with my . I have choice of 4 input devices, no matter which oneI connect the cursor selects Whatever is beneath it. This makes typing almost impossible especially for non-typist like me. I have tried everything I can think of to sort out this all to no avail. I have the choice of a wired USB mouse, and Apple Magic mouse which is Bluetooth also a trackpad which is Bluetooth connected and finally a graphics tablet.
I really would appreciate anybody's input to try to sort this out many thanks Teapot
