Monitor Browning

My 2007 24" iMac has developed two faint light brown/yellow horizontal bars across the screen
Is there any point in dissembling and wiping? the discoloration away.
Or are the marks now beyond repair (due to age?)

Hello and welcome.

It's not a user-serviceable part. That said, the browning is probably inside the LCD panel itself, so attempting to clean it probably would't help. Yes, probably due to age.
