Mi Mini sees my epson large format, but the printer does not see it

Hi all, i have a 24" M1 imac and so all my photoshoping on it and it prints to my Epson Surecolor P5070 17" large format printer. (had that 2 years). no troubles at all. (put photoshoping on a 24" screen compared to my old 27" 2013 iMac, is like looking through a keyhole) so i picked up a M1 imac Mini cheaply, for something else, but erased it all and used Migration assistant to copy over all items and apps. And even photoshop works well on it. (it now has a 27" monitor)

i did a new install of the printer driver, and both systems were upgraded to the latest Sequoia 15.5 (24F74), everything works fine till it comes to printing to the large format. the Mini see the printer and spols the files, and then comes up that it is sending the data to the printer. BUT the printer does not get any file and does not print... have re installed the printer driver a few times now, and still the same result..

obviously there is something happening that i dont know about... but i am baffled.

anyone know what may be goingf on.

Are you using USB, or is the printer plugged into your network?

Hi, using USB... eposn 5070 does not have wireless or bluetooth... no networkings.

right now i am in the middle of a 400 A3 print run using my M1 24" iMac... flawslesly.. and yet i used migrations assistant to transfer over to the mini all passwords & apps etc, and all except the epson 5070 printer driver works, and it even prints to my EPSON a4 printer. so am very puzzled. installes the 5070 driver several times.. from downloads and evem from the control panel.. no luck..

2 things.. In the past when I have done a migration in irder to get the printer to work, i had to remove all the printers from the Printers & Scanners section of the System Settings. And then re-add it in.

Also the 5070 should have an ethernet port on the back that you can 0lug into your router. If you do this then there would be no need to switch the USB cord each time you want to print from a different computer.

Hi, yes is deleted and re installed the printer driver a few times, restarting between such. i alos downloaded and installed the driver on the australian Epson websupport site.. non of that worked.

But, have never though of using the ethernet. well i have never used the ethernet ports for anything, but that method i will try tomorrow. 7-48pm here... so a new tangent method to try...

well just got arround to using the thernet port. (I have a crate of cables left over, but do you think in can find one when i need it) anyway.. IT WORKS... wow. comes up wu=ith an unusual name and address. (I am not used to ethernet stuff). but hey, to good prints just same a though my normal iMac 24" m1... so i am very happy now... owe you a sincere thanks for the help. greatly appreciated.
